Unity Government – Don’t Sleep With The Tainted

I hope PAS will see through this gimmick which is a trap to demonise PAS once again. 

The next PAS ‘muktamar’ is very important in order to elect party leaders who can ensure this unity government idea is buried once and for all.

They have to elect people with Tok Guru Nik Aziz’s mindset who can see through the plot someone is trying to play in creating this unity government.

 Whose Wayang Is This?

When the unity government was first lauded, it was intended to gather support to push Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah or someone else highly regarded by both BN and Pakatan Rakyat to be the prime minister. 

Now that Najib Abdul Razak has become PM, and this unity government plan has to be aborted once and for all. 

It takes someone highly principled to be the leader of a unity government. This to ensure the government puts the country’s problems at the highest priority, that is before party and politics. 

The person must also command the confidence of the rakyat and is one who can be accepted by both coalitions as someone who is incorruptible, fair and without bias. This person must have a very clean record over the years, a record which is undisputable. 

Sad to say, currently there are no one in our cabinet who has such a track record. The only person left which such track record is Tengku Razaleigh, he who has been consistently sidelined and ignored by his very own party.

Now, it seems that the unity government issue is played out everyday by a certain daily newspaper. It even covered the issue about the unity government on its front page and continued it onto its back page. 

What’s the real agenda? 

Besides the motive to break-up the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, I really don’t see any other motive. Why, out of sudden, would someone want to work with his enemy of 50 years? 

Every move in Malaysia’s third-class politics is always about survival, killing off your enemies and how to stay in power forever.

Therefore, this unity government idea is being played up now to ensure a certain party’s survival in the next general election. 

I hope PAS will see through this gimmick which is a trap to demonise PAS once again. And PAS should ask all its members to stop reading this daily and encourage them to get more accurate contents from the Internet to prevent further confusion and brainwashing by its enemy.

The next PAS ‘muktamar’ is very important in order to elect party leaders who can ensure this unity government idea is buried once and for all.

Meanwhile, Brother Manjanik posted an interesting email he had received here, 

Sepanjang pengajaran Tok Guru di pagi Jumaat sehingga habis Tafsiran 6666 ayat dua tahun lepas,  perkataan SESAT hanya di tujukan kepada orang-orang yang mengkhianati Islam dan sentiasa berusaha memusnahkannya. (Manjanik)

Namun apabila Ustaz Nik Abduh menyebut perkataan SESAT kepada pembantu-pembantu Tok Guru dengan kes tidak bersetuju dengan UNITY GOVERMENT maka amat sukarlah untuk di terima oleh sebahagian Pemimpin dan penyokong PAS. Gambaran ini seolah-olah sesiapa yang menentang Kerajaan Perpaduan adalah SESAT. If Party Needs Me, Party Has To Push Me.

Adakah PAS memerlukan satu sumbangan saya untuk pengukuhan arah tujunya.  Jika arah tuju PAS sudah tegas dan nyata saya tidak fikir perlu di ganggu. Tetapi sekiranya ahli-ahli parti merasakan satu  pengarahan masa depan parti yang lebih terang dan tidak ada satu keraguan terhadap parti, mungkin saya akan pertimbangkan penyertaan saya (dalam menandingi jawatan timbalan) nanti, Insya Allah. 

Husam is ready to consider accepting nominations by the divisions for him to go for number 2 position in PAS.

Husam made the announcement today in Pengkalan Chepa. Husam said whether he will challenge Ustaz Nasharuddin Mat Isa or not is base on three factors.

1.    Whether or not the reason for those division to nominate him is consider valid and truthful to the spirit of Islam and PAS.

2.    The direction of the party and whether he can brave the party into the right direction.

3.    Whether by being number 2 he can strengthen the party to face the next General Election.

Husam also said then he has never change and he still not belief in self promotion. “If party needs me, party has to push me”, said Husam.

PAS Will Return To BN in June

Perdana Menteri baru ada “task force” (jawatankuasa bertindak) untuk meneruskan perbincangan tentang penyatuan Melayu ni dengan PAS – Wrote Reme from Temasik.

PAS will join Barisan Nasional in June 2009. After it’s pact with other opposition parties had created history, PAS is ready to undress its opposition uniform once again.

Scary? Maybe. Betrayed? Yes.

I received an sms from a buddy in Singapore that later lead me to double-check his query with another buddy in KL.

I was told “everything is on track bro”.

But why June? Perhaps PAS members know better.

Meanwhile I found this piece from Malaysia Kini,

Presiden PAS, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang berkata perbincangan dengan pemimpin Umno berhubung cadangan penubuhan kerajaan perpaduan terpaksa ditunda kerana beliau perlu menilai terlebih dahulu kepimpinan baru Umno dan BN di bawah Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.          

Menurutnya, hasrat untuk membincangkan cadangan tersebut adalah dengan kepimpinan dahulu iaitu sewaktu pentadbiran bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Sehubungan itu, beliau menolak dakwaan kononnya beliau menarik balik cadangan itu bagi menjaga kepentingannya dalam mempertahan jawatan Presiden parti yang mungkin dicabar dalam muktamar agung parti Jun depan.

“Cadangan ini (kerajaan perpaduan) semasa Abdullah, tetapi sekarang (Umno) di bawah pimpinan baru (Datuk Seri Najib). 

“Pada masa itu, pada dasarnya saya setuju, tapi sekarang lainlah ceritanya apabila Umno di bawah kepimpinan baru,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan mesyuarat agung tahunan ke-52 PAS kawasan Bachok, hari ini, lapor Bernama.

Answer: Inilah masalahnya. Ramai yang tidak faham dengan konsep ini. Rakyat ada kebebasan. Ini ‘unity’ biar kita kena faham. Apa yang saya rasa lucu, ada orang Umno yang membangkang dan ada orang Umno yang bersetuju. Tetapi, orang PAS juga bangkang dia (PAS) tidak tahu. Ini menandakan, dia (orang PAS) tidak tahu apa ‘Unity Government’. Barangkali kalau dia tahu bentuknya saya rasa orang boleh terima. Oleh kerana, ramai orang tidak faham, maka, saya tarik balik cadangan saya itu. Saya tarik balik sehingga orang kita faham betul-betul.

Datukship For Hilmi!

“I didn’t know about the said article. I was informed by my staff and I lodged a report,” he said. 

A movement calling itself Gagasan Melayu Perak (GMP) has lodged a police report against Malaysiakini over a news report which the website had not published.

In the police report, GMP president Mohd Hilmi Ismail claimed that Malaysiakini had published an article insulting the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, and Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah. 

The said article, headlined ‘Raja Nazrin defends monarchy against ridicule’, was allegedly published by Malaysiakini on Tuesday. 

But a check revealed that no such report was published by the online news daily. 

Its Bahasa Malaysia section had however uploaded a Malay version of the story based on a Bernama report but this was published on April 19. 

Mohd Hilmi (right) and his group lodged the report at the Sungai Senam police station near Ipoh at 5pm yesterday. 

According to Bernama, Mohd Hilmi had told reporters that the police report was lodged because GMP considered the news carried by the website as rude and discourteous to the monarchy in the state. 

He also said GMP hoped that the Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture would take action against the website for abusing information technology without considering the implication on national security. 

‘I was informed by my staff’

Malaysiakini contacted GMP this morning to seek clarification over the police report and was told by Mohd Hilmi that he was not aware if Malaysiakini had carried such a report before going to the police. 

“I didn’t know about the said article. I was informed by my staff and I lodged a report,” he said. 

When asked if he realised that he could have tarnished Malaysiakini reputation with his police report, Mohd Hilmi asked: “Isn’t Malaysiakini the same as Malaysian Today or some other blogs?” 

Malaysiakini has asked Mohd Hilmi to publicly apologise for making the false report. 

The website is also mulling possible action against Mohd Hilmi and GMP. (Check Malaysiakini for full news)

PRK DUN Penanti : Anwar Ibrahim dan 2M.

Dan ia pasti bukan batu nesan Altantuya Shaariibu. Bukan juga batu nesan Azilah atau Sirul. Ia adalah batu nesan Najib sendiri ehsan pakatan 2M Muhyiddin-Mahathir

Penanti dan penantiannya bermula dengan bosan sehinggalah munculnya Tun Dr. Mahahtir Mohamed.

Kesediaan Tun Dr. Mahathir untuk mengetuai jentera Barisan Nasional dalam menghadapi pilihanraya kecil Penanti jika ia diadakan merupakan satu harapan baru kepada Malaysia di dalam menghadapi arus perubahan yang baru.

Barisan Nasional seharusnya bertindak cepat dengan memberi endorsement kepada Tun Dr. Mahathir untuk diberi kuasa sebagai penasihat kepada Pengarah Jentera Pilihanraya BN yang besar kemungkinan akan terus diketuai oleh Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Ataupun, Muhyiddin yang banyak berjasa dalam mengembalikan Mahathir kepada UMNO berundur selangkah dan memberi laluan kepada negarawan itu untuk menjadi Pengarah Jentera Pilihanraya BN bagi Pilihanraya Kecil DUN Penanti.

Tawaran yang dibuat oleh Tun terjadi memberi harapan baru kepada sebahagian rakyat Malaysia yang sudah merasa jemu dan bosan dengan sikap Anwar Ibrahim yang secara terang-terangan belum berhenti menyalahguna platfom pilihanraya untuk kepentingan peribadi.

Jika berlakunya pilihanraya kecil DUN Penanti, ini merupakan kali ke tiga rakyat terpaksa berhadapan dengan pilihanraya kecil akibat wakil rakyat dari PKR meletak jawatan diatas arahan Ketua Umum PKR itu.

Ternyata Anwar Ibrahim tidak mungkin dapat membuat Tun Dr. Mahathir percaya bahawa pilihanraya kecil ini berlaku diatas keputusan peribadi wakil rakyat tersebut secara seratus peratus. Sedangkan Elizabeth Wong yang mempunyai cukup alasan untuk kosongkan semua jawatannya yang memerlukan moral yang tinggi pun tidak berbuat demikian bila ditawarkan untuk kekal, apa lagi Wan Azizah, Arumugam dan Fairus.

Mahathir tentu yakin bahawa Fairus dipaksa untuk meletakkan jawatan sebagai ADUN Penanti kerana Anwar sudah hilang punca dengan kemelut PKR Pulau Pinang. Kegagalan Anwar memilih satu dari dua ADUNnya untuk mengantikan jawatan Fairus sebagai Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1 membuktikan segala-galanya.

Fairus ditekan supaya meletakkan jawatan ADUNnya agar Anwar dapat mengimport orang kepercayaannya ke dalam DUN Pulau Pinang dan seterusnya jika menang tentu sekali diangkat sebagai Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1 Pulau Pinang.

Ini jelas menunjukkan ketandusan pemimpin dalam PKR. Yang ada hanyalah penumpang tidur yang menunggang PKR hanya untuk melayan mimpi mereka.

Tentu sekali juga Mahathir mengharapkan Anwar menafikan semua ini. Tentu sekali Mahathir akan mendesak Anwar melantik Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1 Pulau Pinang segera jika Anwar menafikan dia sedang berusaha mengimport calon untuk jawatan itu.

Tentu sekali ini akan menjadikan pilihanraya DUN Penanti menarik. Tentu sekali ini juga bererti Najib Razak telah terjerat oleh pakatan Muhyiddin-Mahathir yang termeterai di bulan Ramadan 1429 Hijrah yang lalu.

Tentu sekali ini bukan kali pertama Najib Razak terjerat di dalam pakatan ini. Kali pertama Najib terjerat ialah apabila Muhyiddin mengumumkan akan bahawa Mahathir bersedia masuk semula UMNO dalam bulan Ramadan 1429 Hijrah dalam satu pukulan yang bukan sahaja menjerat Najib tetapi menamatkan peluang Tengku Razaleigh untuk kembali sebelum sempat apa-apa berlaku.

Sebagai seorang pemimpin yang berusaha membawa perubahan segera dalam sistem pemerintahan negara dan juga dalam cara rakyat memandang Parti pimpinannya, Najib telah membuat kenyataan mencadangkan BN tidak bertanding di dalam pilihanraya kecil DUN Penanti. Tindakan Najib senang difahami oleh majoriti senyap dan rakyat yang tidak menyebelahi mana-mana pihak yang bercanggah ideologi politik.

Tindakan Najib telah memulih kembali keyakinan golongan ini terhadap keikhlasan Najib setelah senarai kebinetnya gagal membawa perubahan kepada UMNO, BN dan pentadbiran negara. Tindakan Najib berkata sebegitu dianggap berani menentang arus. Ia adalah hembusan nafas segar.

Najib tentu tidak menyangka Tun akan menyanggahnya secara terbuka walaupun Najib tahu Tun memang berkemampuan berbuat begitu. Tapi Najib tentu terkejut bila dia mula menghidu suatu pakatan sulit Muhyiddin-Mahathir atau pakatan 2M. Siapa sekarang pilihan Tun sebenar-benarnya? Apakah benar Najib atau Muhyiddin menerusi Najib?

Mungkin sudah tiba masanya Najib berbicara dengan Ali Rustam dan berdua mereka melihat kembali kronologi yang telah memerangkap Ali sehingga terlucut haknya menentang Muhyiddin.

Tentu sekali DUN Penanti semakin menarik sekarang.

Dengan pendedahan ini, tentu ramai yang mahu melihat apa sebenarnya yang akan berlaku di dalam Pilihanraya Kecil DUN Penanti. Persoalannya sekarang, adakah Anwar Ibrahim mahukan Pilihanraya Kecil di DUN Penanti untuk mengimport Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1 untuk Pulau Pinang atau ada muslihat Nasional di sebaliknya. Muslihat yang bertujuan mendedahkan kepada Najib dan mengekploitasi situasi sebenar di sebalik liku-liku koridor kuasa di Putrajaya.

Dan jangan kita lupa, Penanti di dalam Negeri Pulau Pinang. Usah terlupa juga Ketua Perhubungan UMNO Pulau Pinang masih Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Paling usah kita lupa ialah bukan Anwar yang menumbangkan Abdullah dari puncak UMNO tetapi Abdullah tumbang kerana pakatan 2M Muhyiddin-Mahathir pada Ramadan 1429 Hijrah.

Pengaruh Abdullah mungkin telah luput sama sekali tetapi Abdullah memiliki 2 kerusi di Parlimen. Manakala Menteri-menteri dan Timbalan-timbalan Menteri yang digugurkan memiliki satu kerusi Parlimen setiap seorang.

Apakah gajah sama gajah berperang, Najib akan mati ditengah-tengah, hanya dengan adanya Pilihanraya Kecil di DUN Penanti sahaja kita dapat mengetahuinya.

Apa yang pasti, ianya berlaku terlalu pantas buat Najib. Dalam minggu pertama sahaja kepimpinannya telah tewas di dalam 2 pilihanraya kecil. Apakah Penanti akan menjadi nesan ke tiga dalam tempoh 100 hari buat Najib.

Sewaktu BN berhadapan dengan tsunami dalam PRU 12 pada 8 Mac lalu, semua jari pemimpin dalam BN menunding ke arah Abdullah. Sewaktu BN tewas di Pilhanraya Kecil Permatang Pauh dan Kuala Terengganu, semua jari menunding juga kepada Abdullah.

Sekarang, pasca Abdullah, kepimpinan UMNO telah berubah, tetapi nasib UMNO dan BN di Semenanjung terus tidak berubah. Jika BN bertanding dan tewas di Penanti, tentu sekali tidak lama selepas itu Muhyiddin-Mahathir akan tiba-tiba terasa bahawa nasib malang BN bukan sangat kerana Abdullah tapi bila di lihat balik baru BN terngadah.

Nasib malang BN sebenarnya kerana Najib.

Untuk itu kita harus menyanjung Anwar Ibrahim. Setidak-tidaknya Anwar lebih bijak memahami masalah BN itu daripada Mahathir. Benarkah Anwar lebih bijak dari Mahathir?

Kerana itu, dalam pertembungan antara Anwar dengan Muhyiddin-Mahathir, hanya akan menyaksikan satu lagi batu nesan terpaksa digendung Najib.

MIDDLETOWN, Md. – An accountant for a railroad operator killed his wife and their three children before fatally shooting himself in a northwest Maryland home, leaving a gruesome scene that was discovered Saturday by the youngsters’ grandfather, authorities said.

Authorities didn’t specify a motive but said there was evidence the man faced psychiatric and financial problems.

When investigators arrived at the two-story home, the couple’s two sons, ages 5 and 4, lay dead in their beds, while the bodies of a 2-year-old daughter and the mother, Francis Billotti Wood, were in the master bedroom, Frederick County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Jennifer Bailey said. On the master bedroom floor by the foot of the bed was the father, 34-year-old Christopher Alan Wood, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Bailey said.

The 33-year-old mother and three children suffered “traumatic cuts” and each also had at least one gunshot wound from a .25-caliber handgun, Frederick County Sheriff Charles Jenkins said. Their precise cause of death wasn’t immediately known, and Jenkins declined to say what was used to slash them.

The woman’s father found them dead around 9 a.m. He had grown concerned after not hearing from them for several days, Bailey said.

Christopher Wood apologized to family members in one of five notes he wrote and left at the scene, and he indicated in a note that he had psychiatric problems, Jenkins said. The sheriff wouldn’t elaborate on what else was written in the notes. Read More

But Husam is actually a traditionalist in party sense. Furthermore, he is indeed a ‘boringly ultra religious’ person. He has won the battle of winning the heart and mind of the non Malays and the young Malaysians not because of his willingness to strip the religious attire from his six footer built but due to his diligence in applying his religious knowledge into his administrative styles and using religious as a way of life instead of a way to make others feel discriminated.

When Pas President Tuan Guru Haji Hadi Awang walked passed me, the wording of Mary Hopkins’s, Those Were The Days linger between my ears.

The day before he left for Kota Bharu, Haji Hadi made a statement from the comfort of his home claiming that he has withdrawn his offer for the formation of Unity Government.

“I made the suggestion to Abdullah because we (I) see him as a leader with the least problems, but I don’t see any such Umno leader now,” Hadi told The Malaysian Insider.

I disagree with Hadi to withdrawn the offer, because if he wants to make the offer, it should be made to the new Prime Minister not the outgoing PM.

Making the offer for Abdullah, after PAS has worked very hard to bring down Abdullah is absurd. The whole country has been wrecked by Abdullah indecisiveness and series of misjudgement. How on earth could we justify prolonging the damage to this country?

Last night, Haji Hadi made a statement in Kota Bharu claiming he is ready to be challenged as president.

Bernama reported that Hadi as saying that he would remain with PAS whether he was re-elected president or otherwise at the general assembly, expected to be held in Shah Alam in June.

This statement maybe coincide with the rumours that Nik Aziz has obtained his first two nominations to contest for President by a Division in the Federal Territory and a division in Kedah.

Strictly playing by the tradition, neither Nik Aziz nor any of his aides has mention anything about having the Spiritual Leader to hold the highest executive position in PAS.

Nevertheless many outsiders especially the non Muslim are expecting a strong blend of Kelantan leaders will fill the important position in PAS because of the trust and respects the non Malays have toward them due to their administrative experience at State level and their popularity at national level.

They are also expecting names like Dato’ Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, Sallahudin Ayub and Mohamad Sabu to make it as the vice president. Nevertheless out of the three names, one may not make it as PAS delegates normally will fill one of the three vice president positions with an Islamic Scholar.

While Nizar made his name as the people’s Menteri Besar of Perak, Sallahuddin is seen as the pillar that managed to control the extremist within the PAS Youth Wing from exploding ala Taliban.

Today, The PAS President Hadi received a warm and rapturous welcome to The PAS Kubang Kerian Division. Leading the welcoming committee is no other that the Division Chief Dato’ Haji Husam Musa, the Vice President of PAS.

Husam is seen to be providing the morale support to his President while at the same time Husam is also seen as Nik Aziz top loyalist.

When Husam led the President to his seat in front of the delegates who are Husam’s staunch supporters at the Religious School in Pasir Tumbuh, it can be seen how comfortable the President felt at the moment.

Officiating Husam’s division at the moment went Husam is seen as the biggest threat to Nasaruddin Mat Isa future as Deputy President of PAS may has send the signal of Hadi’s approval to Husam to take a step up in the leadership hierarchy of PAS. At the same time, it may also send the signal to other division about the hidden warm relationship between both of them.

Husam is actually a stabiliser within PAS. He is the most misunderstood character within the party hierarchy. Many have seen Husam as the reformist and among the accusation thrown to him is he is more UMNO than green.

But Husam is actually a traditionalist in party sense. Furthermore, he is indeed a ‘boringly ultra religious’ person. In a matter of fact, Hadi needs Husam more than Nik Aziz ever did. And it shall be very comforting to know that Husam is a loyalist. Something that Nik Aziz has known all along.

Nevertheless, one thing for sure, it shall be more lonely friday nights ahead in what shall be the less productive months of the year.

Muhyiddin, You Are One Stupid Bugger!

“It is their right to attend or not to attend (the state assembly sitting), but not to the extent of jeopardising Barisan’s position in the assembly, for we are the government in Terengganu”, – Muhyiddin Yassin.

What the ….! Ayo Muhyiddin, why you fast becoming an idiot lately. It is so ungrateful of you towards the voters to claim that BN assemblyperson has the right not to attend state assembly sitting at their own pleasure.

Hello brother, state assembly sitting is less than 10 days out of 365 days in a year.

This is another UMNOPUTRAS corrupted mind at work.

I say, no elected representatives of the people has the liberty to decide themselves whether they want to do the work that they pleaded from us. When we voted them, they must perform no matter how hard the situation is and attending state assembly is part of the work.

Muhyiddin, you just proved that UMNO has never change. It is nothing but sheer arrogance!
